Hello Everyone! When we were planning the new website and I was thinking about writing this blog, I could never have imagined it would be in the circumstances in which we find ourselves now. While it’s devastating for many across the world and bringing such a challenge to life as we know it, it’s also been really heartwarming to see and hear the very many ways in which people have responded and adapted so positively and with such kindness to each other. Here at ParentSpace, in our tiny little corner of the world, we had been planning a series of roadshows, bringing you the latest news and showing off our new advertising materials. While we’ve had to cancel that and all the other face to face things – courses and Drop Ins, we decided that we could still go ahead with some of it online. We weren’t sure what to offer at first. Should we put all the courses online? Should we write a new course on Parenting during COVID-19? Should we share EVERYTHING that’s out there already - homeschooling schedules, online baking, music lessons, dance lessons, craft sessions - you name it. Then we figured you would already have enough to do without all that. So our apologies for joining in with the bombarding of information in these first couple of weeks. You’ll be glad to know we’ve settled down a bit now. So, in line with your response to our online poll, we will be offering online Drop -Ins twice a week on Zoom. Don’t worry if you’re not sure how to use Zoom, there’ll be help here and on the FB page and the details of where and when. A very wise parent, who is now on our Board of Trustees said she thought ParentSpace should carry on doing what we always do – holding a space where we can all be honest about how we’re feeling, without fear of judgement. We’ll be right here, doing that. You’re not alone. Karen Launch PartyMarch is ParentSpace's big re-launch!
New branding, new website, new facilitators, we've even been hot on the printing and have banners, leaflets and business cards. WE are ready for action. WE are ready to support the parents out there who need us. Lets create a village for each other, show support to other parents. Lets build a network we can all share and benefit from. |
